2. How many terminals does RMI have and where are they located?
» Our truck terminal is located in Mattawan, MI and our distribution warehouse is located in Paw Paw, MI
3. What is RMI’s passenger policy?
» Drivers can bring a passenger and/or pet 30 days after being seated with permission from Compliance Department
4. What kinds of freight does RMI haul?
» Food and beverage and a variety of consumer goods
5. Does RMI offer benefits?
» We offer medical, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, 401(k), Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Program
6. Where do RMI trucks run?
» Our network area we run is the Midwest, Great Lake States, and I-80 corridor into Pennsylvania
7. Does RMI use E-logs or Paper Logs?
» E-logs through Samsara
8. What type of trucks does RMI operate?
» Volvo and Freightliner
9. Does RMI slip seat drivers or assign drivers to trucks?
» We assign drivers their own truck
10. Does RMI offer a driver referral bonus program?
» Yes, $1000 referral for a Class A driver, paid after they are hired (in payments). This program is open to the public. No affiliation to RMI needed

Driver Apprentice FAQs
1. What is RMI’s CDL A training program?
» Our program provides comprehensive training to obtain a Class A CDL
2. What are the prerequisites for enrolling?
» Must be 21 years of age or older, possess a valid Michigan driver’s license, meet the RMI Driver Qualifications Standards, live within 60 minutes of our facility, and pass the DOT physical and drug screen
3. How much does RMI’s Training Program cost?
» The cost of the program is $5200. There is $0 out of pocket expense to our apprentices because they sign a contract that they will drive for RMI for 52 working weeks post-training
4. Do I get paid during training?
» Yes, RMI offers a stipend during the training
5. What happens if I don’t fulfill the 52-week commitment?
» Failure to complete the 52-week commitment will result in financial penalties or the requirement to repay the training costs. Specific terms are outlined in the contract.
6. What kind of training will I receive during the Program? And how long does the Program last?
The program consists of three phases:
» Phase 1: Learning the essential skills through classroom, guided range, and road instruction (Expected completion time: 3 weeks)
» Phase 2: Through one-on-one practical training, RMI will build your skills and knowledge of professional driving techniques (Expected completion time: 3-4 weeks)
» Phase 3: The program will continue with training and mentoring during your first year of solo driving
7. What fleet will I be driving for once I complete the Training Program?
» You will start your driving career in our Regional fleet
8. What are some challenges of being a truck driver?
» Challenges include long hours, time away from home, and the physical demands of the job. However, many drivers find the independence and travel rewarding
