Ralph Moyle is honored to be a SmartWay Partner.
“The SmartWay Transport Partnership is a collaboration between freight shippers, carriers, and logistics companies to voluntarily achieve improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions from freight transport. The program is administered by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and is currently housed with the USEPA’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ) – Transportation and Regional Programs Division (TRPD). SmartWay also administers the National Idle-Free Corridors Program which aims to reduce idling by commercial vehicles along interstates, at distribution centers, and along other transportation
corridors. The SmartWay Transport Partnership is administered by USEPA headquarters, with program staff located in Washington, D.C. and at the National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory (NVFEL) in Ann Arbor, Michigan.” (Information in quote from EPA website)
At Ralph Moyle Inc. we have installed APU’s (Auxiliary Power Units) on all of our sleeper tractors, so that drivers need not idle
to cool, heat, or power the cab. We are also Implementing a Fuel Efficiency Program of our own, where each driver has a meeting with our Fuel Efficiency Coordinator, and together they set goals for certain fuel saving aspects of driving, which all is tracked on the on board computer in the truck.
